About Our Client
My client are a Private Equity backed, £35 million turnover Wholesaler who are the UK's largest in their field. The business bought it's 2 largest competitors last year and have had a period of integration and streamlining. With 8 branches across UK and Ireland, they are now looking to recruit a Head of Finance to support the newly promoted CFO.
Job Description
- Provide accurate management accounts in line with the agreed timetable
- Oversee all month end processes
- Produce regular reports and statistics as required and provide insight to the business
- Management of financial stock reporting including reconciliation and provisions
- Daily reporting and maintenance of actual performance versus forecast
- Managing and overseeing the cash flow of the company including monitoring and control of all payments through bank accounts
- Invoicing of key account customers and processing of all container invoices (or delegate as appropriate
- Ensure the adequate design and operation of internal controls
- Identify patterns in company spending and revenue;create and propose solutions to any problem areas
- Management of foreign currency and relationships with providers
- Responsible for the accurate and timely submission of statutory accounts and tax filings such as CT61 and P11D
- Managing the External Auditor relationship and ensuring the organisation is compliant with accounting standards
- Promote a performance-based culture to ensure agreed targets are met ensuring performance reviews are conducted
- Develop and coach the Financial Controller, Accounts Manager and the wider team
- Liaise with HR with regard to ongoing training and development requirements of the Finance and Accounts team
- Drive continual improvement within the Finance and Accounts ways of working and processes
The Successful Applicant
- Relevant professional qualification, e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA
- Solid experience of running a small finance and accounts department in a similar sized organisation
- Strong leadership and managerial skills
- The ability to coach and identify development needs for team members
- Able to set and meet targets and deadlines both for the function and for individual roles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to interpret and clearly explain complex financial data to non-finance colleagues
- Excellent IT skills including advanced Excel
- Excellent attention to detail skills
- Ability to work with agility and self-motivation
- Capable of managing multiple responsibilities and able to deliver to strict deadlines
