An innovative energy group is seeking a Financial Controller to join their core finance team. This hands-on role involves management accounting, cash flow forecasting, and financial reporting, offering significant exposure to the CFO and board. With a 6-month contract and potential for extension, this position is ideal for someone looking to make a real impact in a high-growth sector.
We are working exclusively with an innovative and fast-growing energy group co-owned by two strategic investors. This group spans 15 entities, including profitable operating companies, development SPVs, and staffed ventures. With impressive cash flow, a strong balance sheet, and ambitious growth plans, this is a unique opportunity to join the core finance team at a critical stage.
AsFinancial Controller, you’ll work directly with the CFO and take full ownership of management accounting, group cash flow forecasting, and financial reporting. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role that offers real breadth—ideal for someone looking to join a commercially dynamic business with scale-up energy.
This will be a 6 month contract with the potential for extension.
Benefits:
£50k – £65k based on experience
Hybrid working (3 days onsite and 2 days from home)

Key Responsibilities:
Management Accounting:
Build and run monthly P&Ls, balance sheets, and variance reports across 15 companies. Create group-wide templates to streamline reporting.
Cash Flow Forecasting:
Design detailed Excel-based cash flow models, track liquidity for operational and development activities, and manage group cash pooling.
Financial Reporting & Board Packs:
Lead quarterly reporting cycles, providing accurate insights into cash, obligations, and dividend capacity. Liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance.
Process Improvement & Controls:
Drive automation and data integrity initiatives using Excel. Build scalable processes for future growth.
CFO Support:
Provide analysis on new development pipelines, M&A prospects, and cost optimisation initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
Advanced excel skills. Financial modelling skills are desirable
Experience presenting board level
