We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our team and take ownership of the company’s financial management and reporting functions. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and driving improvements in financial processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, financial statements, and board reports.
• Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, providing analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including tax, audit, and financial regulations.
• Coordinate year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, financial systems, and reporting tools.
• Support cash flow management, working capital optimization, and treasury activities.
• Provide financial leadership and guidance to senior management and departmental heads.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a small finance team.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives across the finance function.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Qualified accountant (ACA practice trained is preferred).
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with financial reporting standards (UK GAAP / IFRS).
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially astute with the ability to provide strategic financial insight.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
