Job summary

Flat Iron is seeking a Financial Controller to join Beef HQ and drive our finance function forward. You will lead a five-person team, own the period-end close, and ensure robust financial controls across multiple sites, including stock, cash, payroll, and tronc.

You will also lead the year-end audit and drive process improvements to scale with growth. Ideally, you are a fully qualified accountant with 5+ years post-qualification experience and substantial experience in multi-site hospitality or

• Oversee management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Manage restaurant-level controls, including stock, GP, cash, payroll and tronc.
• Lead the year-end audit and ensure statutory compliance.
• Improve and automate finance processes to support growth.
• Partner with teams across Beef HQ to support new restaurant openings.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Financial Controller to join our Beef HQ team and help shape the future of our finance function. Reporting to our Head of Finance, you'll lead a team of five, take ownership of our financial reporting and controls, and drive improvements to make our finance processes more efficient as we grow.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own the period-end close, reducing it from 11 working days to 6.
• Oversee management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Manage restaurant-level controls, including stock, GP, cash, payroll and tronc.
• Lead the year-end audit and ensure statutory compliance.

• Partner with teams across Beef HQ to support new restaurant openings.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 5+ years' post-qualification experience.
• At least 2 years' experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager.
• Experience in multi-site hospitality, leisure or retail preferred.
• Proven experience leading and developing a finance team.
• Strong financial controls, management accounting and Excel skills.
• A hands-on, proactive approach with a passion for improving processes.
