Job summary

Flat Iron Building Group is seeking a Financial Controller to lead our Beef HQ finance team and own financial reporting and controls. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will drive improvements as we scale and support new restaurant openings.

You will manage a five-person team, streamline close processes, and ensure robust controls across stock, cash, payroll and reconciliations while partnering with operations to enable growth.

• Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.

• Lead the year-end audit and ensure statutory compliance.
• Improve and automate finance processes to support growth.
• Partner with teams across Beef HQ to support new restaurant openings.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Financial Controller to join our Beef HQ team and help shape the future of our finance function. Reporting to our Head of Finance, you'll lead a team of five, take ownership of our financial reporting and controls, and drive improvements to make our finance processes more efficient as we grow.

What You'll Be Doing...

• Lead, coach and develop a team of five.
• Own the period-end close, reducing it from 11 working days to 6.

• Manage restaurant-level controls, including stock, GP, cash, payroll and tronc.
• Lead the year-end audit and ensure statutory compliance.
• Improve and automate finance processes to support our continued growth.
• Partner with teams across Beef HQ to support new restaurant openings.

What We're Looking For...

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 5+ years' post-qualification experience.
• At least 2 years' experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager.
• Experience in multi-site hospitality, leisure or retail preferred.
• Proven experience leading and developing a finance team.
• Strong financial controls, management accounting and Excel skills.
• A hands-on, proactive approach with a passion for improving processes.
