Job summary

Flat Iron - Beef HQ in London is seeking a Financial Controller to lead our finance function. Reporting to Head of Finance, you will manage a team of five, own the period-end close, oversee management accounts and financial controls, and drive improvements as we expand.

You will partner with cross-functional teams across Beef HQ to support new openings, strengthen controls across restaurant-level operations, and prepare for audits.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
• Experience as Financial Controller or Finance Manager for 2+ years.
• Experience in multi-site hospitality, leisure or retail preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of five.
• Own the period-end close and reduce cycle time from 11 to 6 days.
• Oversee management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Manage restaurant-level controls including stock, GP, cash, payroll and tronc.
• Lead the year-end audit and ensure statutory compliance.
• Improve and automate finance processes to support growth.
• Partner with teams across Beef HQ to support new restaurant openings.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Financial Controller to join our Beef HQ team and help shape the future of our finance function. Reporting to our Head of Finance, you'll lead a team of five, take ownership of our financial reporting and controls, and drive improvements to make our finance processes more efficient as we grow.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead, coach and develop a team of five.
• Own the period-end close, reducing it from 11 working days to 6.
• Oversee management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Manage restaurant-level controls, including stock, GP, cash, payroll and tronc.
• Lead the year-end audit and ensure statutory compliance.
• Improve and automate finance processes to support our continued growth.
• Partner with teams across Beef HQ to support new restaurant openings.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 5+ years' post-qualification experience.
• At least 2 years' experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager.
• Experience in multi-site hospitality, leisure or retail preferred.
• Proven experience leading and developing a finance team.
• Strong financial controls, management accounting and Excel skills.
• A hands-on, proactive approach with a passion for improving processes.
