Alexander Daniels Finance Recruitment is partnering with a growing group to appoint a Financial Controller in Dudley. This senior leadership role oversees financial control across multiple entities, ensuring robust reporting and strong governance while driving finance transformation.

The post-qualified candidate will lead month-end close, cash management and technical accounting, reporting to the Finance Director within a dynamic, multi-entity environment. Hybrid flexibility is available.

Qualifications

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified.
• Minimum 5 years post-qualified experience.
• Experience within a multi-entity organisation.
• Strong technical accounting background.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver the month-end close process across multiple entities.
• Lead daily cash management, treasury support and working capital controls.
• Manage management reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and ERP integrity.
• Develop and mentor the finance and management accounts team.
• Drive process improvement, automation and greater use of technology and AI.
• Oversee statutory reporting, governance and company secretarial matters.
• Manage audit relationships and ensure compliance with financial controls.
• Support tax planning, R&D claims, insurance renewals and external advisers.

Financial Controller | Dudley | Senior Leadership Opportunity I £65,000 to £75,000 + Benefits

Are you a qualified Financial Controller who thrives on bringing structure, control and commercial insight to a growing business?

We're partnering with an established and highly successful creative, digital, events and communications group looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to join its Senior Management Team.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll take ownership of financial control across a multi-entity group, ensuring robust reporting, strong governance and excellent financial discipline while helping drive continuous improvement across the finance function.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll be responsible for the integrity of the numbers, the effectiveness of the controls environment and the development of a high-performing finance team.

You'll lead month-end reporting, cash management, technical accounting, audit processes and finance transformation initiatives, while playing a key role in supporting strategic decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and deliver the month-end close process across multiple entities
• Lead daily cash management, treasury support and working capital controls
• Manage management reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and ERP integrity
• Develop and mentor the finance and management accounts team
• Drive process improvement, automation and greater use of technology and AI
• Oversee statutory reporting, governance and company secretarial matters
• Manage audit relationships and ensure compliance with financial controls
• Support tax planning, R&D claims, insurance renewals and external advisers
• Monitor banking covenants, payroll oversight and fixed asset management
• Maintain and enhance finance policies, procedures and controls

What We're Looking For

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified
• Previous Financial Controller experience
• Minimum 5 years post-qualified experience
• Strong technical accounting background
• Experience within a multi-entity organisation
• Proven track record of leading and developing finance teams
• Strong systems and process improvement mindset
• Comfortable operating within a fast-paced and evolving environment
• Hands-on, organised and commercially aware approach
