Interaction Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be working with a leading manufacturing business in their search for a Financial Controller to work from their offices in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.

Our client is a leading company in the manufacturing sector, committed to excellence and innovation. They are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join their dynamic team in Cambridge. This role is crucial in maintaining financial integrity and supporting growth.

Reporting To

The Head of Finance

Key Responsibilities Include

1. Management of the day-to-day operations of the Finance Team.
2. Maintain accurate financial records, including stock management and valuations.
3. Produce monthly management accounts and ensure timely group reporting.
4. Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts monthly.
5. Keep the Fixed Assets Register and related documentation up-to-date.
6. Ensure compliance with statutory accounting, taxation, and legal requirements.
7. Assist in preparing forecasts and budgets.
8. Manage relationships with external auditors.
9. Improve departmental effectiveness through objective setting and performance reviews.
10. Ensure all government returns are filed accurately and on time.
11. Manage UK employee payroll and related returns.
12. Perform Treasury functions, including cash management and FX hedging.
13. Lead and participate in ad hoc projects as required.

• Extensive experience in accounting and financial reporting at a similar level.
• Experience in manufacturing and standard costing is highly advantageous.
• Experience working in or with a European finance office is desirable but not essential.
• Strong people management and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong team ethic and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Advanced PC skills, particularly Microsoft Office, and extensive ERP systems knowledge.
• Experience with SAP is a plus but not essential.
