Job summary

SF Recruitment is recruiting a Financial Controller for an Alfreton-based, hybrid role. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the day-to-day finance function across the group, developing the finance team and delivering robust reporting and controls.

The role covers month-end/year-end, management accounts, cash flow, budgeting, and strategic financial insights to support business growth. ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified candidates with strong multi-site experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Experience leading and developing a finance team.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, audit and statutory reporting.
• Strong Excel and ERP skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading, mentoring and developing the finance team.
• Ownership of month-end and year-end reporting.
• Producing management accounts and reporting packs for senior leadership.
• Maintaining strong balance sheet controls and reconciliations.
• Cash flow forecasting, treasury and working capital oversight.
• Leading annual budgets, rolling forecasts and scenario planning.
• Providing profitability, KPI and commercial analysis to the leadership team.
• Supporting operational stakeholders with financial insight and decision-making.
• Managing the external audit and statutory reporting process.
• Overseeing VAT and other statutory returns.
• Improving finance processes, controls, reporting and systems.
• Supporting the CFO with wider finance projects and strategic initiatives.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a broad leadership role with responsibility for the day-to-day finance function across the Group. You'll lead and develop the finance team whilst ensuring the business has strong reporting, controls and financial information to support its continued development.
