Job summary

Axon Moore is supporting an exciting client in the search for a well rounded Accountant on a 12-month fixed term contract. The role involves ownership of key financial reporting, robust controls, and group accounting within a growing organisation.

The successful candidate will handle month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and support statutory accounts and audits, while driving process improvements across the finance function.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, month-end journals and financial variance analysis.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely resolution of outstanding items.
• Support Group consolidation, intercompany accounting and reporting.
• Assist with statutory accounts, external audits, corporation tax, VAT, R&D and other compliance requirements.
• Maintain robust financial controls, accounting records and audit trails.
• Identify and implement improvements to finance processes, systems and reporting efficiency.
• Work closely with senior finance stakeholders and provide technical guidance and support to junior colleagues.

Axon Moore are supporting an exciting client in the search for a well rounded Accountant to join its finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to take ownership of key financial reporting and control activities within an established business operating as part of a wider Group.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls and supporting Group accounting and compliance activities.

This opportunity would suit a technically strong, hands-on finance professional who enjoys improving processes, maintaining high standards of accuracy and working collaboratively across a business.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, month-end journals and financial variance analysis.

About You

You will have strong financial accounting experience, with a solid understanding of month end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.

Ideally, you will also bring:

• Candidates must be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
• Experience in Group accounting, statutory reporting and audit support.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence using finance systems.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, process improvement and stakeholder engagement.
