Job summary

Axon Moore are supporting an exciting client in the search for a well rounded Accountant to join its finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of key financial reporting and control activities within an established business, working under the Group Financial Controller to deliver accurate reporting and robust financial controls.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
• Experience in Group accounting, statutory reporting and audit support.
• Strong Excel and confidence using finance systems.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, month-end journals and financial variance analysis.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of items.
• Support Group consolidation, intercompany accounting and reporting.
• Assist with statutory accounts, external audits, corporation tax, VAT, R&D and other compliance requirements.
• Maintain robust financial controls, accounting records and audit trails.
• Identify and implement improvements to finance processes, systems and reporting efficiency.
• Work closely with senior finance stakeholders and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues.

Axon Moore are supporting an exciting client in the search for a well rounded Accountant to join its finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to take ownership of key financial reporting and control activities within an established business operating as part of a wider Group.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls and supporting Group accounting and compliance activities.

This opportunity would suit a technically strong, hands-on finance professional who enjoys improving processes, maintaining high standards of accuracy and working collaboratively across a business.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, month-end journals and financial variance analysis.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely resolution of outstanding items.
• Support Group consolidation, intercompany accounting and reporting.
• Assist with statutory accounts, external audits, corporation tax, VAT, R&D and other compliance requirements.

About You

You will have strong financial accounting experience, with a solid understanding of month end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.

Ideally, you will also bring:

• Candidates must be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
• Experience in Group accounting, statutory reporting and audit support.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence using finance systems.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, process improvement and stakeholder engagement.
