Axon Moore are supporting a large international manufacturing business with the appointment of an Interim Financial Accounting Lead, based in North Yorkshire. The role owns end-to-end accounting for the UK entity, ensuring timely financial reporting and compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.

This high-visibility position requires coordinating close processes, VAT compliance, audits, and collaboration with Group Finance, external advisors and internal stakeholders across the international group.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, with practical experience in statutory financial reporting.
• Experience coordinating statutory audits and working with external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies.
• Ability to communicate effectively across an international organisation and manage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of the UK entity's end-to-end accounting activities and timely financial reporting.
• Coordinate monthly and half-yearly close processes in line with Group deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS and Group accounting standards.
• Act as VAT lead for the UK, including VAT accounting and timely VAT returns.
• Liaise with HMRC, external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate statutory audits and prepare statutory financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with Group Internal Control standards and manage risks.
• Support internal and external audit programmes
• Collaborate with the wider international Group to standardise financial processes.

Axon Moore are supporting a large international manufacturing business with the appointment of an Interim Financial Accounting Lead, based in North Yorkshire.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the end-to-end accounting activities for the UK entity, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting whilst maintaining compliance with UK statutory, tax and regulatory requirements. This is a highly visible role within an international organisation and will work closely with Group Finance, external advisors and a wide range of internal stakeholders.

Key roles and responsibilities

• Ownership of the UK entity's end-to-end accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• Coordinating the monthly and half-yearly financial close process in line with Group reporting deadlines
• Ensuring accounting activities comply with UK GAAP, IFRS and Group accounting standards
• Acting as the UK subject matter expert for VAT compliance, including accurate VAT accounting and timely submission of VAT returns
• Managing relationships with HMRC, external auditors, tax advisors and other regulatory bodies
• Coordinating statutory audits and ensuring the timely preparation of statutory financial statements
• Ensuring compliance with Group Internal Control standards, identifying financial and compliance risks and implementing appropriate controls
• Supporting both internal and external audit programmes
• Working closely with colleagues across the wider international Group to ensure consistent and effective financial processes
