Job summary

Axon Moore Group Ltd outside Chester is seeking a Management Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. The role offers broad exposure across month-end and management accounts with a collaborative finance team, in a hybrid arrangement (2 days in the office, 3 days from home).

• Experience in a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role.
• Hands-on with month-end accounting processes.
• Strong knowledge of accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Good Excel skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive and team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and posting journals.
• Managing accruals and prepayments.

Management Accountant (12-Month FTC - Maternity Cover)
Location: Just outside Chester
Salary: Up to c.£40,000

Axon Moore are delighted to be partnering with a fantastic business based just outside Chester to recruit a Management Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

The role offers broad exposure across the month-end process and management accounts function, making it ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on and working as part of a collaborative team environment.

The Role

Reporting into their Head of Finance, you will take ownership of key month-end activities while supporting the wider finance function as needed.

Duties will include:

• Preparing and posting journals
• Managing accruals and prepayments
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Taking ownership of month-end processes
• Assisting with management accounts preparation
• Maintaining accuracy and integrity of financial records
• Supporting purchase and sales ledger activities when required

About You

To be considered, you will need:

• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role
• Hands-on experience with month-end accounting processes
• Strong knowledge of accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Good Excel skills and attention to detail
• A proactive and team-oriented approach
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment
