ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Carlisle-based Finance team. You will support governance, statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit management and risk oversight while delivering timely management accounts and forecasts.

You will partner with Finance, Operations, Sales and IT to drive improvements in reporting, data integrity and stock control. The role requires strong analytical skills and professional integrity in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced analytical and financial expertise, including financial controls and current accounting standards.
• Ability to deliver timely management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Strong collaboration with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Sales and IT.
• Professional integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial governance, compliance, tax, audit, and risk management activities across the business.
• Produce accurate management reporting, budgets and forecasts to support decision-making.
• Manage inventory reporting and stock control evaluation to drive performance improvements.
• Partner with key stakeholders to improve data integrity, reporting accuracy, and EBIT growth.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and compliance.

What you would do as our Financial Accountant

As our Financial Accountant, you will be a key member of the Finance Leadership Team, responsible for safeguarding the financial integrity, governance, and compliance of the business. Working closely with the Finance Director, you will coordinate on financial controls, statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit management, risk oversight, and inventory reporting, while providing valuable commercial insight to support business performance and strategic decision-making.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering accurate and timely management accounts, budgets, and forecasts, providing valuable financial insight to support strategic decision-making. Operating within a fast-paced environment, you will partner with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Sales, and IT to drive continuous improvement, enhance reporting processes, support sustainable growth, and help the business achieve its financial and operational goals.

You would also:

• Lead financial governance, compliance, tax, audit, and risk management activities, ensuring strong financial controls across the business.
• Produce accurate management reporting, budgets, and forecasts, providing financial insight to support strategic decision-making.
• Manage inventory reporting and stock control evaluation, driving actions to improve performance and achieve stock reduction targets.
• Partner with key stakeholders across the business to improve data integrity, reporting accuracy, and support sales and EBIT growth.
• Identify and implement process improvements that enhance financial reporting efficiency, compliance, and overall business performance.

• Is commercially minded, proactive, and proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel), with a focus on continuous improvement and delivering results.
