Job summary

Entrust in London is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join the Finance team during a high-growth phase. You will report to the Financial Controller and support month-end, year-end close, and statutory reporting for UK and foreign entities.

The role requires ACCA/ACA, 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, solid UK GAAP/FRS102 knowledge, and strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA) with 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP/FRS102 and statutory accounts.
• Experience producing or auditing statutory accounts and audits.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close with reconciled records.
• Lead international subsidiary audits and liaise with auditors.
• Ensure compliance with tax filings, VAT, and statutory requirements.
• Maintain technical accounting memos and update policies.
• Mentor junior staff and drive process improvements.
• Develop efficiencies and implement audit recommendations.

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to join the Finance team of a high growth business, at an exciting phase in its journey. In this role you will report directly to the Financial Controller and support all aspects of the accounting and reporting of two UK and seven foreign legal entities. You will be a key senior member of the team, be technically strong, driven and enthusiastic, have exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to all tasks. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our financial health and compliance. As a Senior Accountant you will:

• Financial and Management Reporting: Support the Financial Controller throughout month end and year end close by maintaining accurate, reconciled, accounting records, by providing analysis and reports to support the corporate reporting processes
• Audit coordination: Lead international subsidiary audits and manage relationships with auditors and local advisors. Coordinate audit requests within finance and the wider company
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including supporting with tax fillings, VAT returns and statutory requirements, including the identification of non-compliances and propose recommendations to prevent re-occurrences.
• Documentation: Maintain technical accounting memos and policies and keep the team up to date with new statutory updates.
• Process improvement: Improve efficiency of current processes and implement any audit recommendations.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior accounting team members fostering a collaborative and development oriented environment.

Requirements: Essential:

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA)
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP/FRS102
• Previous experience producing or auditing statutory accounts
• Previous audit experience
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Clear and effective communicator, verbal and written
• A keen interest in technical accounting topics
• Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to build great working relationships with all levels of the organisation
• Organised with good attention to detail
• Able to work independently and be proactive with solving problems
• Hardworking and willing to take on new challenges
• Ability to look for efficiencies in all processes and drive change in a growing business
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with industry trends

Desirable:

• Experience in technology industry advantageous
• Proficiency in Accounting software Netsuite
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
