Job summary

Distinct | B Corp in Bingley is seeking a Part or Newly Qualified Financial Accountant to join the finance team. You'll support month-end reporting, maintain controls, and assist with statutory and regulatory reporting in a multi-channel business.

The role targets ACCA/ACA/CIMA studiers or recently qualified candidates with solid grounding in financial accounting and strong Excel skills. Collaboration with the wider finance team is essential.

Qualifications

• Actively studying toward ACCA, ACA or CIMA or recently qualified
• Experience in financial accounting or assistant accountant roles
• Strong understanding of month-end processes and balance sheet controls
• Comfortable working with large volumes of financial data
• Accurate, organised and able to meet reporting deadlines

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
• Support the production of monthly management and financial accounts.
• Assist with statutory accounts and year-end audit requirements.
• Prepare VAT returns and other regulatory submissions.
• Maintain fixed-asset records and support capital expenditure reporting.
• Work with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting queries.
• Identify opportunities to improve controls, reporting and finance processes.
• Support wider finance projects and provide cover across the team when required.

A well-established consumer retail business in Bingley is looking to appoint a Part or Newly Qualified Financial Accountant as it continues to strengthen its finance team.

This role will suit an ACCA, ACA or CIMA studier who has developed a solid grounding in financial accounting and wants broader exposure within a complex, multi-channel business.

Working closely with the wider finance team, you will support accurate month-end reporting, maintain strong financial controls and contribute to statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
