Job summary

Search is seeking a Management Accountant in Leeds to join a dynamic finance team on a permanent basis. You will own the monthly management accounts process, supporting group reporting and delivering commercial analysis to drive performance.

The role offers leadership of a small finance team, strong controls, and exposure to international requirements in a fast-paced environment. Part-qualified or fully qualified accountants encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Experience producing management accounts.
• Experience within a multi-entity or group reporting environment.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication with finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process and deliver accurate monthly management accounts, P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
• Produce variance analysis and commercial commentary against budget and prior year.
• Prepare monthly group reporting submissions and support consolidation.
• Manage and reconcile intercompany balances across entities, ensuring reporting accuracy.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to analyse margins, profitability and performance.
• Drive cost control initiatives and provide financial insight for decisions.
• Take ownership of stock accounting, valuations, reconciliations and movement analysis.
• Support VAT reviews, audits and process improvements.
• Maintain and enhance financial controls and reporting processes across finance.
• Lead, mentor and develop a small finance team, ensuring accuracy and performance.

Management Accountant

Our client is a successful business in Leeds are looking for driven and ambitious Management Accountant to join their finance team on a permenant basis and play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, commercial insight and financial control across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or qualified accountant looking to develop their career within a complex, fast-paced environment gaining exposure to international requirements.

The Role

You will take ownership of the monthly management accounts process, support group reporting requirements, and provide valuable commercial analysis to help drive business performance. You will also lead and develop a small finance team, ensuring high standards of accuracy, efficiency and control.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process and deliver accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reporting.
• Produce meaningful variance analysis and commercial commentary against budget and prior year performance.
• Prepare monthly group reporting submissions and support consolidation requirements.
• Manage and reconcile intercompany balances across multiple entities, ensuring reporting accuracy.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to analyse margins, profitability and business performance.
• Drive cost control initiatives, identify efficiencies and provide financial insight to support decision-making.

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
