Job summary

Distinct Recruitment is seeking an interim Financial Accountant for a fast-paced, growing business in the North Nottingham/Derby area. The role is a 3-month contract with 3 days on-site and an early finish on Fridays.

You will handle statutory accounts, VAT, and balance sheet control while partnering with a wider finance team. You will be ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent, with a strong technical base and a capability to translate numbers into business insights for budgeting and forecasting.

I'm looking for a technically strong Financial Accountant to join a growing, fast-paced business on an interim basis.

There's a strong technical core to the role, but it's not just about statutory reporting and year-end. You'll also work closely with the wider finance team and business, using the numbers to support budgeting, forecasting, and better commercial decision-making.

The role will cover:

• Statutory accounts and external audit
• VAT and tax reporting across UK and overseas entities
• Financial controls and balance sheet integrity
• CAPEX accounting and reporting
• Budgeting, forecasting and providing meaningful financial insight
• Working with stakeholders to improve the quality of financial information
• Identifying opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen controls and improve reporting

Ideally ACA or ACCA qualified, you'll have a strong technical foundation but also enjoy looking beyond the numbers and understanding what they mean for the wider business.

Multi-entity or international experience would be particularly useful.
