Somerset Council is seeking a Finance Transformation Lead for an 18-month fixed-term post within the Building Better Finance programme. The role focuses on improving financial processing and systems, with emphasis on Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash, and working across Finance, ICT and wider services.

You will drive change initiatives, engage stakeholders, and ensure robust controls and governance while enabling flexible, hybrid working arrangements as service needs allow.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in financial transaction processing environments.
• Experience leading business change, transformation or service improvement from planning through to embedding change.

Responsabilités

• Lead the development and improvement of the council's financial processing and systems.
• Drive improvements across Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash and other financial transaction processes.
• Act as the link between Finance, operational services and future service design.
• Identify opportunities to simplify financial processes, strengthen controls and governance, and make better use of finance systems.
• Build relationships with Finance, Digital and council services to understand business needs and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead change initiatives, including implementation, training and ongoing support.
• Help teams adopt new ways of working and improve compliance with financial processes and controls.
• Use better systems, data and service design to support informed decision-making.
• Ensure financial processes are efficient, consistent and easy to use.
