Job summary

Opus People Solutions are recruiting for a Financial Services Manager on behalf of a Local Authority client in Worcestershire. The role is 37 hours per week with hybrid working (1 day onsite per week) and a 6-month contract.

You will lead Finance, Payroll, Exchequer and Insurance teams, oversee budget setting, financial planning, treasury management and capital programme oversight, and provide strategic financial advice to senior leaders and elected members.

Qualifications

• CIPFA/CCAB qualified with strong Local Government experience.
• Budget management, treasury, statutory accounts expertise.
• Finance leadership and governance capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead Finance, Payroll, Exchequer and Insurance teams.
• Oversee budget setting, financial planning and performance reporting.
• Manage treasury and capital programme oversight.
• Support statutory accounts and year-end close.
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior leaders and elected members.
• Drive financial governance, risk management and service improvement.
