Job summary

Opus People Solutions are recruiting for a Financial Services Manager on behalf of a Local Authority client in Worcestershire. The role is 37 hours per week with hybrid working (1 day onsite per week) and a 6-month contract.

You will lead Finance, Payroll, Exchequer and Insurance teams, oversee budget setting, financial planning, treasury management and capital programme oversight, and provide strategic financial advice to senior leaders and elected members.

Qualifications

• CIPFA/CCAB qualified with strong Local Government experience.
• Budget management, treasury, statutory accounts expertise.
• Finance leadership and governance capabilities.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for an experienced Local Government finance professional to lead Financial Services across a shared service arrangement supporting two councils.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading Finance, Payroll, Exchequer and Insurance teams
• Budget setting, financial planning and performance reporting
• Treasury management and capital programme oversight
• Supporting statutory accounts and year-end closedown
• Providing strategic financial advice to senior leaders and elected members
• Driving financial governance, risk management and service improvement

You’ll ideally be CIPFA/CCAB qualified with strong Local Government experience, including budget management, treasury, statutory accounts and finance leadership.
