Job summary

Sellick Partnership is recruiting a Finance Officer for a Liverpool-based charity in a hybrid role. You will support day-to-day financial operations, gaining exposure to a broad range of accounting tasks within a collaborative team.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will handle invoices, ledgers, reconciliations and supplier queries while developing skills for a future finance career in the charity sector.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience using a finance system would be advantageous.
• Previous charity sector experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently
• Maintaining financial records and supporting ledger management
• Performing supplier statement reconciliations and resolving queries
• Supporting credit control and monitoring outstanding balances
• Assisting with weekly payment runs and bank reconciliations
• Processing staff and volunteer expenses
• Supporting Gift Aid administration and restricted fund accounting
• Assisting with month-end processes, reconciliations and reporting
• Maintaining robust financial controls and audit trails
• Building effective working relationships across Finance, Fundraising and Operations teams

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Officer will play a key role in supporting the effective delivery of day-to-day financial operations across the charity and its trading subsidiary. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to gain exposure to a varied finance function and further develop their skills in a rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities
