Job summary

AD Finance is recruiting a Finance & Office Manager for a 9-month fixed-term contract in the United Kingdom. The role combines financial control, payroll, pensions, VAT, and office management within a collaborative small business environment.

You will report to the Directors, own the finance function, oversee payroll and HR administration, and support budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting while coordinating with external accountants.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a finance, bookkeeping, or accounts position.
• AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA, CIMA.
• Hands-on experience with payroll, pensions, VAT returns, and credit control.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software, ideally Xero.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities including AP/AR and GL postings.
• Process supplier invoices, receipts, and sales invoices accurately and timely.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and maintain accurate records.
• Administer payroll, pensions, staff expenses and records.
• Calculate monthly VAT and Corporation Tax provisions and coordinate VAT returns.
• Manage credit control activities and liaise with external accountants as required.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow reports.
• Support budgets, forecasts and management reports with Directors.
• Oversee general office operations and HR administration.
