Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a Finance Manager to oversee the accounting and finance department, manage budgets, prepare financial reports and provide insights to support business decisions.

The role covers budgeting, financial reporting, payroll liaison with external accountants, cash flow forecasting and maintaining accurate records in Xero, with opportunities to influence financial strategy in a growing SME.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
• Experience running a finance function in an SME, ideally sole-charge or close to it.
• AAT qualified, part-qualified or ACCA / CIMA, or qualified by experience.
• Experience in managing budgets and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Build the budget for the coming financial year and report actual performance against it.
• Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Provide detailed analysis to support decision-making processes.
• Manage the monthly payroll process, liaising with the external accountants who run payroll.
• Monitor cash flow and forecast financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Own and maintain accurate, reliable financial records in Xero
• Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies.
• Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors and banks.
