Job summary

Michael Page is supporting a well-established owner‑managed business in its search for a commercially minded Finance Director. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be a trusted adviser to the leadership team, combining hands‑on financial leadership with input on strategic decisions and business performance.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management, drive system improvements and profitability initiatives, and oversee a small finance team and wider support functions in

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or CIMA) with SME experience.
• Strong management accounting and forecasting capabilities.
• Experience supporting senior leaders with commercial decisions.
• Ability to influence and challenge constructively.
• Strong cashflow and working capital management experience.
• Experience improving systems, processes and reporting.
• Leadership experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Developing and delivering the financial strategy for the business.
• Leading budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning.
• Providing commercial insight and analysis to support decision‑making.
• Producing timely management information, KPIs and reporting.
• Managing cashflow, treasury and working capital.
• Supporting profitability improvement and cost optimisation initiatives.
• Maintaining robust financial controls, systems and governance.
• Presenting financial performance and recommendations to the board.
• Leading a small finance team and overseeing wider business support functions.
• Managing relationships with banks, auditors and advisors.
