AWE is seeking a Finance Manager (Statutory Reporting) in Reading to lead the Financial Accounting team and deliver high‑quality statutory and technical accounting across the CFO function, with line management of a specialist team. You will handle AR&A, IFRS lease accounting, audit coordination and ESG/TCFD reporting, plus develop robust financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

A professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), advanced Excel and 2+ years

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Proficient in Excel to advanced level.
• Audit experience.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• 2+ years post-qualification experience of financial and technical accounting work.

Responsibilities

• Tasking and developing a team to deliver first class technical and financial activities within a Finance functional team.
• Using Fusion and other finance systems to provide financial information and reporting with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Build rapport with stakeholders and convey complex financial information to financial and non-financial people.
• Preparation and analysis of Annual Report & Accounts.
• Researching significant transactions to ensure correct local accounting treatment.
• Own and develop the process to identify leases under IFRS.
• Monitor, assess and interpret technical accounting developments and impacts on reporting.
• Ensure timely completion of the external audit process.
• Prepare and submit MOD reporting returns.
• Develop financial reporting for ESG and TCFD.
