AWE in Reading is seeking a Finance Manager (Statutory & Technical Accounting) to lead planning and delivery of financial activities across the CFO Finance function. The role oversees Financial Accounting, FP&A, Compliance and Finance Systems with clear leadership of the team.

Hybrid working is offered with a 9‑day fortnight and flexible hours. Candidates should have ACA/ACCA/CIMA, IFRS knowledge, advanced Excel and 2+ years post‑qualification experience.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (i.e., ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Proficient in Excel to advanced level.
• Audit experience.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• 2+ years post qualification experience of financial and technical accounting work.

Responsibilities

• Tasking and developing a team to provide planning and delivery of technical and financial activities within a Finance function.
• Using Fusion and other finance systems to provide financial information with effective communication and continuous improvement.
• Build rapport with stakeholders and relay complex financial information to financial and non-financial people.
• Preparation and analysis of Annual Report & Accounts (AR&A).
• Researching significant transactions to ensure correct local accounting treatment.
• Identifying leases under IFRS and developing related processes.
• Monitoring and interpreting technical accounting developments and their impact on reporting.
• Ensuring timely completion of external audits.
• Preparing and submitting MOD reporting returns.
• Developing ESG and TCFD reporting.
