Octopus Legacy is seeking a Finance Manager to own core accounting processes end‑to‑end—from ledger integrity and reconciliations to management reporting and compliance—across multiple entities. You’ll enable senior leadership with accurate financial data and drive improvements in systems and controls as the business scales.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar.
• 3-5+ years’ experience in finance, accounting, or a management accounting role.
• Strong grounding in accounting fundamentals — reconciling ledgers, reviewing balance sheets, and preparing management accounts.
• Highly detail‑oriented with the discipline to manage high‑volume transactional work accurately.
• Confident working across multiple entities and reconciling complex accounts.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets capability; hands‑on experience using Xero in a multi‑entity environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
• Manage month-end close, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Monitor and track expenses and budgets, flag variances and support cost control.
• Work with external accountants, auditors and vendors to ensure compliance and smooth reporting cycles.
• Improve financial systems, processes and reporting tools; automate where possible.
• Conduct ad‑hoc financial analysis to support commercial decisions and planning.
• Own finance‑related aspects of onboarding/offboarding (payroll, system access, documentation).
