Join Our Growing Team at Fletchers Solicitors as a Finance Manager supporting Medical Law Services (MLS)

We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic Finance Manager to join our expanding finance team and support our Medical Law Services (MLS), a dynamic and rapidly growing subsidiary of Fletchers Solicitors.

MLS provides essential intercompany services—including medical records collation, pagination, expert instruction, and risk assessments—to legal teams. Having experienced remarkable growth of over 300% in turnover (reaching £5.8m in the past three years), MLS is now preparing to expand its services externally to other law firms.

This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of an ambitious growth journey. With ongoing mentorship from the MD, FP&A, and Head of Financial Reporting, this position plays an integral role in supporting the wider finance function through effective financial analysis, business partnering, and timely financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the MLS leadership team to provide valuable commercial insights into financial performance, ensuring accuracy and transparency in all financial reports.

Main Responsibilities
Business Partnering:
  • Serve as the primary financial liaison for MLS, building strong relationships and providing financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and ensure financial alignment.
  • Act as a trusted advisor with financial guidance, performance analysis, and improvement recommendations.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning aligned with business strategy.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives.
Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare, review, and present monthly reports highlighting KPIs and trends.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting, including variance analysis and commentary.
  • Maintain data integrity, internal controls, and compliance with standards.
  • Coordinate month-end closing and audits with finance teams.
  • Enhance financial reporting tools and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Newly qualified CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent
  • Advanced Excel skills
