Job summary

Fordham Talent Partnership is seeking a qualified accountant to own core financial control processes within a fast‑scaling, regulated banking environment. You will drive month‑end close, balance sheet and P&L integrity, and support regulatory submissions, while collaborating with Product, Risk, and Operations.

The role blends technical accounting depth with forward‑looking commercial insight, across a hybrid finance team focused on accuracy, controls, and business impact.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with professional body.
• Strong experience in financial control, audit, or financial reporting in banking or regulated FS.
• Exposure to FP&A, commercial finance, or performance analysis.
• Experience with complex datasets and financial systems.
• Desirable: experience in a challenger bank or fintech.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate month-end close, including journals, reconciliations, substantiation and control checks.
• Own key balance sheet and P&L lines, ensuring completeness, accuracy, IFRS compliance.
• Maintain high-quality documentation, audit trails, and controls for a regulated banking environment.
• Support production of statutory accounts and regulatory submissions.
• Lead investigations into variances, control breaks, and data issues, driving remediation.
• Partner with external auditors, managing queries and ensuring a controlled, timely close.
