Job summary

ClearBank is seeking a mid-level Financial Control Accountant to join our small, hands-on Finance team. You will own core month-end close activities, maintain GL integrity, and partner with FP&A to ensure accurate reporting for management and regulators.

The role requires fully qualified accounting credentials and strong experience in financial control within a regulated environment, with a focus on process improvement and scalable controls.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or CIMA).
• Strong financial accounting and financial control experience within regulated financial services, banking or fintech.
• Experience managing month-end close activities and GL controls.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Experience supporting audit activities and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own allocated month-end close activities and ensure timely, accurate delivery.
• Prepare, review and approve general ledger journals with proper support.
• Oversee revenue and expense analysis and communicate variances to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with FP&A for accruals and adjustments.
• Manage bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Own capitalisation and amortisation for intangibles and non‑automated entries.
• Drive scalable processes and support management, regulatory, statutory and tax reporting.
