Job summary

Blue Arrow Ltd in Blaenavon is seeking a Finance Manager to join the busy accounts team and lead monthly management accounts, financial reporting and day-to-day financial operations. You will prepare monthly management accounts, VAT returns, cash flow management, budgeting and forecasting, and oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll and supplier payments.

Applicants should be AAT qualified, or ACA/ACCA part qualified or fully qualified; Sage 50 experience is required; the role is permanent

Qualifications

• AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part qualified, or fully qualified / qualified by experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Experience in Finance Manager/Company Accountant/Management Accountant role is essential.
• Sage 50 experience is required.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Support day-to-day financial operations including cash flow management.
• Handle VAT returns, accounts payable/receivable, credit control and bank reconciliations.
• Payroll processing and supplier/contractor payment schedules.
• Provide financial analysis to management and assist budgeting/forecasting.

Job description

Finance Manager required for a well-established business based in Blaenavon. The successful candidate will join a busy accounts team and be responsible for assisting with the production of monthly management accounts, financial reporting and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

Duties will include preparing monthly management accounts, profit and loss reporting, budget preparation, variance analysis, cash flow management, forecasting, VAT returns, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, payroll processing and preparing weekly and monthly supplier and contractor payment schedules.

The successful candidate will work closely with the management team, providing financial analysis and reporting to support business decision making across the organisation.

Applicants should be AAT qualified, ACA or ACCA part qualified, fully qualified or qualified by experience. Previous experience within a similar Finance Manager, Company Accountant or Management Accountant role is essential together with a good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Sage 50 experience is required. Candidates must possess strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

This is a permanent, fully office-based position working Monday to Thursday 08:15-17:00 and Friday 08:15-15:00, offering a salary of £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience and an opportunity to progress within the business.
