Job summary

Wade Macdonald in partnership with our client seeks a Finance Manager for the Wokingham area. You will lead a finance team, partner with operational leaders and senior management to deliver insightful reporting and drive profitability.

Based in a hybrid role, you will prepare monthly accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial reports, manage cash flow and compliance, and play a key role in business partnering across functions.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or nearing qualification.
• 4–5 years' relevant finance experience.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP knowledge.
• Confident communicator with ability to lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team across two locations.
• Partner with operational management to evaluate performance and support key commercial decisions.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial reports.
• Analyse sales performance, profitability, work in progress and operational costs to identify improvements.
• Manage cash flow projections, working capital and credit control.
• Coordinate statutory reporting, external audits, VAT submissions and compliance.
• Review financial systems and ERP processes to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities.
• Monitor departmental expenditure and supplier agreements.
• Provide financial evaluations to support investment proposals and planning.
• Collaborate with Operations, Sales, HR and central finance to improve performance.

About the Job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Finance Manager. Working closely with operational leaders and senior management, you will provide valuable financial insight, strengthen reporting processes and help drive profitability. This is a varied and influential position combining financial management, business partnering and team leadership.

Duties will include:

• Leading and developing the finance team, ensuring effective financial management and compliance across both locations.

• Partnering with operational management to evaluate business performance and support key commercial decisions.

• Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial reports.

• Analysing sales performance, profitability, work in progress and operational costs to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Managing cash flow projections, overseeing working capital and supporting effective credit control.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues across Operations, Sales, HR and central finance to improve business performance.

About the Successful Applicant

You will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or approaching qualification, with at least four to five years' relevant finance experience. Strong Excel skills, ERP knowledge and commercial awareness are essential. You will be a confident communicator, comfortable challenging and influencing senior stakeholders, with the ability to lead a team effectively. A proactive, analytical approach and the confidence to work independently will be key to your success.
