Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group are supporting an established manufacturing organisation in Basingstoke, Hampshire, to appoint an experienced Finance Manager who will own the day-to-day finance function and partner with senior management to drive performance.

You will lead monthly management accounts, budgeting, cash flow and controls, while developing commercial insights and ensuring robust financial reporting across the business.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified in ACCA/CIMA/AAT with strong management accounting and reporting.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, credit control, ledgers, and UK VAT.
• Excellent Excel and ERP/accounting systems skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in SME environments and people management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and KPIs with variance analysis.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and working capital processes, including ledgers and supplier payments.
• Maintain robust financial controls and statutory compliance including VAT and year-end audits.
• Provide commercial and operational finance support, partnering with senior management and departments, leading the finance team and driving improvements.

CMA Recruitment Group are working with an established and successful manufacturing organisation based in Basingstoke, Hampshire, who are looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of its day-to-day finance function. This is a broad, hands-on opportunity offering a good blend of financial reporting, commercial finance, controls and team management.

Working closely with the Managing Director and wider senior management team, you will provide accurate and commercially focused financial information to support decision-making and help drive business performance.

What will the Finance Manager role involve?

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and KPIs, providing variance analysis and monitoring revenue, margins, costs and overall profitability
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and working capital processes, including oversight of credit control, purchase ledger, sales ledger and supplier payments
• Maintain robust financial controls and statutory compliance, supporting VAT, year-end accounts, audit requirements and ensuring accurate financial records and procedures
• Provide commercial and operational finance support, partnering with senior management and other departments, managing the finance team and driving improvements across systems, reporting and processes

Suitable Candidate for the Finance Manager vacancy:

• AAT, ACCA or CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience, with strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
• Strong experience across budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, credit control, purchase and sales ledger processes and UK VAT
• Excellent Excel, analytical and ERP/accounting systems skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders
• Previous team management or supervisory experience is desirable, ideally gained within an SME environment; exposure to distribution, manufacturing, engineering or technology would be advantageous
