Job summary

Seymour John Ltd in Tamworth is recruiting a Finance Manager to deliver accurate management accounts, drive efficiencies and influence commercial decision-making across the business.

Reporting to the Finance Director and leading a team of four, you will own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and year-end activities while shaping future financial strategy and a clear pathway to Financial Controller.

Qualifications

• Experience in Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant role.
• Manufacturing environment experience desirable.
• Strong management accounting and reporting proficiency.
• Excellent Excel skills.

• Hands-on attitude with ownership to drive initiatives forward.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
• Manage weekly P&L reporting and performance analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Coordinate the month-end process and reporting deadlines.
• Handle inventory accounting, stock reconciliations and cost analysis.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset registers.
• Oversee VAT returns, intercompany reconciliations and ONS reporting.
• Assist with year-end accounts and external audits.
• Lead projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with operational teams to identify efficiency gains.
• Mentor and develop a team of four finance staff.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role within the finance function while leading a team of four. You will be trusted to use your initiative, think outside the box and influence decision‑making across the wider business.

The Opportunity

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and meaningful financial information while driving efficiencies and supporting commercial decision‑making across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
