RG Consultancy, based in Leeds, seeks an experienced Finance Manager to join the finance team and support the Finance Director with reporting and strategic decision making.

You will oversee financial reporting, profitability analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and month-end close, working closely with operations and senior management to drive performance.

Qualifications

• Qualified finance professional (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent).
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Experience presenting financial information clearly to stakeholders.

Job description

We are working with an established and growing business based in Leeds that is looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to take a key role in the financial management of the business, supporting the Finance Director with financial reporting, analysis and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely financial reports, management accounts and KPI reporting.
• Monitor and analyse gross profit margins across all areas of the business, identifying trends, variances and opportunities to improve profitability.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the business, its operations and the key financial metrics that drive performance.
• Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management and the Board.
• Oversee job, event and contract costing, including both live and historic analysis.
• Analyse customer profitability and identify opportunities to improve margins and financial performance.
• Support the month-end close process, ensuring financial information is accurate and reported within agreed deadlines.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packs, including performance analysis and commentary on key variances.
• Develop and improve financial reporting processes, systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Respond to ad hoc financial analysis requests and provide relevant information to support business decisions.
• Work closely with operational teams to understand financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures and internal controls, highlighting any issues where necessary.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Provide financial guidance and support to the wider business, helping managers understand their financial performance and responsibilities

The Ideal Candidate

• CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis.
• Experience presenting complex financial information in a clear, concise and visually effective format.
• Experience with Sage Line 50 would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work closely with senior management and operational teams.
