Job summary

Sharp Consultancy in Leeds is partnering with a global business to recruit a Senior Finance Manager. The role combines leadership of the management accounts function with group reporting, forecasting, and business partnering across the organisation.

You will lead a team, ensuring high-quality management information and engagement with senior stakeholders to challenge assumptions and drive commercial decisions.

Qualifications

• Qualified with CIMA, ACCA or ACA and 3–4 years PQE.
• Senior management accounting experience including month-end close.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis skills.
• Experience partnering with non-finance stakeholders and influencing decisions.
• Proven ability to mentor/lead finance professionals and communicate with senior leaders.
• Experience in international/group environments with multiple entities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the management accounts function, ensuring accurate and timely monthly reporting across the group.
• Lead and develop a team of management accountants, improving processes, controls and reporting standards.
• Own P&L, balance sheet, forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Provide meaningful financial and operational analysis, highlighting trends, risks and opportunities.
• Partner with operational and commercial leaders to drive better commercial decisions.
• Produce and present management information and commentary for senior management.

Job description

We’re delighted to be partnering with a global business based in Leeds to recruit a Senior Finance Manager.

This is a genuinely broad role with a strong commercial focus, combining ownership of the management accounts function with group reporting, forecasting, performance analysis and business partnering across the wider organisation.

You’ll lead and develop a team, ensuring high-quality and timely management information while working closely with senior stakeholders to understand performance, challenge assumptions and help drive better commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities will include;

• Lead management accounts function, overseeing accurate and timely monthly reporting across the group.
• Lead and develop a team of management accountants, improving processes, controls and reporting standards.
• Ownership of the P&L, balance sheet, forecasting and budgeting process.
• Provide meaningful analysis of financial and operational performance, highlighting trends, risks and opportunities.
• Work closely with operational and commercial leaders as a finance business partner, providing insight rather than simply reporting the numbers.
• Produce and present management information and commentary for senior management.
• Support group reporting across an international business with multiple entities and stakeholders.
• Work closely with FP&A, financial reporting and wider finance teams on group-wide initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, quality and consistency of management reporting.
• Support strategic projects and provide financial modelling and analysis where required

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

• CIMA, ACCA, or ACA Qualified with minimum 3-4 years PQE
• Experience operating at Senior Management Accountant, Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar level.
• Strong management accounts and month-end experience.
• Excellent budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis skills.
• Experience of partnering with non-finance stakeholders and influencing decisions.
• Confidence to communicate financial information to senior leadership.
• Experience managing or mentoring finance professionals.
• Exposure to an international/group environment with multiple entities.
