Job summary

Alexander Daniels Finance Recruitment is partnering with an international manufacturing business to recruit a Finance Manager in Nottingham. This hands-on role reports to the Finance Director and leads a small team while driving process improvement and stronger financial controls.

You will own month-end close, produce management accounts with variance commentary, support budgeting and forecasting, and collaborate with non-finance colleagues on commercial decisions.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or QBE with relevant experience.
• Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant role.
• Background in manufacturing or a similar environment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Produce management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies, including automation.
• Drive transition away from manual processes and enhance finance systems.
• Supervise and develop a small finance team.
• Partner with operational teams to support commercial decision-making.
• Support ongoing system implementation and development projects.
• Maintain strong financial controls and compliance.

Alexander Daniels are partnering with a well-established, international manufacturing business to recruit a Finance Manager. This organisation operates across multiple global markets and is recognised for delivering high-quality, innovative and sustainable products to a premium customer base.

With continued investment and growth in the UK, the business is now looking for a hands-on and proactive finance professional to play a key role in driving process improvement, strengthening financial controls, and leading and developing a small team.

The Opportunity

Reporting into a world class Finance Director, this is a hands-on and highly visible role within a business undergoing positive transformation. You will take ownership of core finance activities while helping modernise systems and processes, making a genuine impact on performance and efficiency.

Alongside managing day-to-day finance operations, you will support and develop a small team and collaborate closely with non-finance stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

About You

• Comfortable working in a changing and evolving environment
• Strong systems capability, including advanced Excel skills
