Job summary

Edenbrook is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our growing insurance broking business. This hands-on role covers technical accounting, financial reporting, controls and business partnering.

Emphasis on IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and FRS 102 with the ability to interpret standards and translate them into practical solutions. You will support monthly and board reporting and drive governance improvements.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
• Strong practical experience with IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and FRS 102
• Experience in a short to medium-sized insurance broker
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge
• Experience interpreting accounting standards and applying them to real-world scenarios
• Experience improving processes, controls and reporting would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of key accounting and financial reporting activities across the business
• Provide technical accounting support on IFRS 15/IFRS 16/FRS 102
• Review complex accounting treatments and prepare technical papers
• Support implementation of new accounting standards and policy changes
• Prepare and review monthly management and legal entity reporting
• Support board and management reporting
• Assist with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements
• Support financial controls, governance and continuous improvement initiatives
• Analyze financial information and identify key risks and trends
• Work with senior finance stakeholders to ensure timely reporting

Particular emphasis will be placed on practical experience with IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and FRS 102, including the ability to interpret accounting standards, assess complex accounting judgements and translate technical requirements into clear, practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of key accounting and financial reporting activities across the business.
• Provide technical accounting support and guidance on the application of IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and FRS 102.
• Review and assess complex accounting treatments, preparing clear technical papers and recommendations where required.
• Support the implementation of new accounting standards and changes to accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare and review monthly management and legal entity reporting.
• Support the preparation of board and management reporting.
• Assist with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.
• Support financial controls, governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyse financial information and complex data, identifying key risks, trends and areas requiring further investigation.
• Work closely with senior finance stakeholders and the wider business to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Key Requirements

• Experience gained within a short to medium-sized insurance broker.
• Qualified accountant, ideally ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Strong practical experience of IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and FRS 102.
