Job summary

Eames Consulting is recruiting for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the London Finance team of a well‑established insurer in the Lloyd's and company markets. You will own underwriting results reporting and the month‑end accounting process, ensuring strong financial control across complex insurance data.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Strong background in insurance accounting, including Lloyd's and company market principles.
• Proven experience managing and developing a team.
• Strong analytical skills, comfortable interpreting complex datasets.

Responsibilities

• Leading the accurate and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual underwriting results across premiums, claims, reserves and acquisition costs.
• Owning and improving the end-to-end month-end accounting process, with a focus on strong controls and efficient delivery.
• Overseeing reconciliations and technical balance controls to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Leading, developing and motivating a small team of accountants.
• Partnering with FP&A, actuarial, reinsurance and regulatory teams, plus auditors and head office, to deliver accurate financial insights.
