Job summary

We Do Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Finance Manager to own month-end close and accounting across multiple entities, reporting to the Finance Director.

The role focuses on strengthening controls, standardising processes, managing inter-company transactions, and overseeing cash flow and statutory requirements with opportunities for progression into broader leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small finance team whilst owning month end and overall accounting across multiple entities.
• Own consolidation, inter-company accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and integrity of financial reporting.
• Strengthen financial controls and standardise processes across the business.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital and broader accounting processes.
• Lead year-end activities and coordinate statutory accounts, tax and external audits.
• Support budgeting and forecasting, including consolidation of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Drive systems improvement, automation and process efficiencies across Finance.
• Partner with senior stakeholders and support Finance Director on wider projects.

Some Finance Manager roles are about inheriting a process.

This one is about helping build a better one.

You would be joining an established international business at an interesting point of change, with Finance becoming more centralised and a real focus on creating a simpler, more consistent and scalable function.

Reporting into an impressive Finance Director, you will take ownership of the core accounting function across a multi-entity environment whilst leading a small team and helping bring together different processes and ways of working.

There is plenty to improve.

Systems, reporting, controls, automation and processes are all on the agenda, giving you genuine opportunity to influence how the finance function operates rather than simply maintaining what already exists.

The longer-term opportunity is equally attractive. They want someone ambitious who can develop with the business and potentially progress towards a Financial Controller / Head of Finance level role as the function evolves.

The Role:

• Lead and develop a small finance team whilst owning month end, financial close and overall accounting across multiple entities
• Own consolidation, inter-company accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and the integrity of financial reporting
• Strengthen financial controls and help standardise processes and ways of working across the business
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital and broader accounting processes
• Lead year-end activities and coordinate statutory accounts, tax and external audit requirements
• Support budgeting and forecasting, including the consolidation of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow

The Candidate:

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with strong financial accounting and reporting experience
• Comfortable operating across a multi-entity or international environment
• Strong month-end, balance sheet, consolidation and financial controls experience
• Experience managing and developing a small finance team
• Demonstrable experience improving and standardising finance processes
• Confident working with external auditors and senior stakeholders across the business
• Systems savvy, hands-on and comfortable operating in a changing environment
• Ambitious, with the appetite to develop into a broader finance leadership role
