Michael Page (UK) is recruiting an experienced Finance Manager to lead a key area of the finance function in a multi-entity business undergoing change and transformation. The role focuses on accounting integrity, strong controls, accurate reporting and high-quality financial information to support decision making.

You will lead a finance transactional team, own month/quarter/year end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and drive process improvements, automation and systems enhancements

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA).
• Strong background in financial reporting and controls.
• Experience with balance sheet management and month-end processes.
• Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.
• Proactive in improving processes, controls and ways of working.
• Excellent communication with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience in a multi-subsidiary organisation.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing a finance transactional team delivering cash flow management, capital activities and payables.
• Ensuring completion of month end, quarter end and year end activities.
• Owning balance sheet reconciliations and GL integrity.
• Strengthening financial controls and policy compliance.
• Reviewing financial data, identifying risks and driving corrective actions.
• Supporting external and internal audits and acting as key contact for financial controls.
• Partnering with stakeholders to improve financial understanding and decision-making.
• Driving process improvements, standardisation and automation to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
• Supporting wider finance transformation including system upgrades.

About Our Client

We're looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead a key area of the finance function. This is multi-million pound turn over business with multiple entities going through a period of change and transformation. Whilst the role oversees operational finance activities, the primary focus is on ensuring strong accounting integrity, robust financial controls, accurate financial reporting, and the delivery of high quality financial information to support business decision making. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with team leadership and process improvement. You'll play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy of the financial records, system enhancements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving continuous improvements across finance processes.

Job Description

• Leading and developing a finance transactional team responsible for delivering high quality workflow activities including cash flow management, capital activities and accounts payable ledger
• Ensuring the completion of month end, quarter end, and year end activities.
• Owning key balance sheet reconciliations and overseeing the integrity of the general ledger.
• Strengthening financial controls and ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
• Reviewing financial data, identifying risks, and driving corrective actions where required.
• Supporting external and internal audit processes and acting as a key contact for financial control matters.
• Partnering with stakeholders across the business to improve financial understanding and support effective decision-making.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Finance Manager should have:

• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
• Strong accounting background with experience in financial reporting, financial control, or operational accounting environments.
• A solid understanding of balance sheet management, reconciliations, month-end processes, and statutory accounting principles.
• Experience leading and developing finance teams.
• A proactive approach to improving processes, controls, and ways of working.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate financial matters clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
• Experience working for a multi -subsidiary organisation
