Industry: Private Equity Backed Software Business

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Central London

Salary Guide: £65-75,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Our client is a fast‑growing, private equity‑backed software group headquartered in Central London. The business delivers mission‑critical technology to a blue‑chip, global customer base and continues to scale rapidly through product innovation, international expansion, and strategic M&A. With a strong leadership team and ambitious growth plans, the company is now seeking a high‑calibre Finance Manager to play a pivotal role within its global finance function.

Description

This newly created Finance Manager position has been designed to strengthen the team as the organisation increases in size and complexity. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will take ownership of group‑wide revenue accounting and oversee key operational finance activities across multiple international entities. The remit includes leading the global revenue accounting process across software subscriptions and professional services, taking responsibility for the production of monthly management accounts and commentary, and supporting the annual group and entity‑level audit cycle. The individual will also act as a senior point of contact for compliance‑related queries from major customers operating within highly regulated sectors.

A central part of the role will be to drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and reporting capabilities, as well as managing the accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and credit control functions. The Finance Manager will also take full ownership of commission calculations, support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow activities, and contribute to covenant reporting for the group’s lenders. In addition, the role will manage a team, support integration work on future acquisitions and participate in a variety of ad‑hoc finance projects aligned to the company’s growth agenda.

Skills

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with post‑qualification experience. They will have a strong technical accounting background, ideally gained within a private equity‑backed, high‑growth environment, and will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical capability, and the confidence to build effective relationships across finance, sales, operations, and senior leadership. Knowledge of annual recurring revenue will also be advantageous. A proactive approach, clear communication style, and the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a small team will be essential.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a driven, commercially astute finance professional seeking a broad, influential role within an ambitious international software business. The position offers significant scope for development and a clear path for progression as the group continues its expansion.
