Job summary

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with post-qualification experience.
• 5+ years in accounting/finance with strong IFRS and UK GAAP knowledge.
• Experience in private equity, investment management or similar financial services.
• Ability to handle complex corporate structures and UK statutory reporting.
• Proactive communicator, able to work with senior stakeholders and advisers.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

Job description

A leading mid-market private equity firm is looking for a Finance Manager to join its London team, supporting finance and governance activities across its UK entities and portfolio companies. The role offers broad exposure across investment deals, portfolio company operations, statutory reporting and fund operations.

Description

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role will provide exposure across investment deals, including due diligence, funds flow, KYC, onboarding of new investments and resolution of post-deal matters. The successful candidate will also review monthly management packs and liquidity models, assess funding requirements and provide financial analysis across portfolio companies.

The Finance Manager will also have responsibility for UK statutory reporting, including the preparation of statutory accounts, coordination of annual audits and management of statutory books. In addition, the Finance Manager will support the establishment and ongoing management of UK portfolio holding companies, including tax compliance and substance requirements, contribute to internal and quarterly reporting, and assist with internal audit and accounting initiatives across the portfolio. The position will also support the wider finance team and Investment, Strategic Operations, Investor Relations and Compliance teams on a range of ad hoc projects.

Skills

• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Experience within private equity, investment management, portfolio companies or a similar financial services environment.
• Experience working with complex corporate structures and UK statutory reporting.
• Comfortable working independently with limited oversight and collaborating with international teams across different time zones.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and external advisers.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
