Job description

Finance Manager - CIMA/ ACCA / ACA / CA - Fully qualified- Software - Central London - Hybrid
About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding and market leading software platform is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of their finance function and to play a central role in driving their financial planning, reporting, controls and operational efficiency as they enter their next stage of growth.

This is a hybrid role based three days per week in their Central London office and two days per week working from home.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen and leadership, delivering accurate financial insights that empower strategic decision-making across the business.

Reporting directly to the senior finance leadership team, you will take ownership of the month-end close and management accounts, the financial control environment, rolling forecasts, annual budgeting, cash management and statutory compliance, while business partnering across commercial and operational departments.

This is a role with genuine scope to grow. As our client continues to scale and expand internationally, they see the Finance Manager developing into their Financial Controller, taking on broader responsibility for group reporting, controls, audit and leading a growing finance team.

Main responsibilities
  • Management Reporting and Month-End Close: Owning the end-to-end month-end close, delivering timely and accurate monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow), accompanied by high-quality variance analysis and commentary for the leadership team and board.
  • Budgeting & Rolling Forecasts: Leading the annual budgeting cycle and owning quarterly rolling financial forecasts, collaborating with business heads to align financial targets with strategic objectives.
  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Owning daily cash management and cash flow forecasting, managing short- and long-term liquidity projections, overseeing working capital requirements, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of revenue, settlements and payment provider balances.
  • KPI & Financial Intelligence Tracking: Developing, monitoring, and reporting key SaaS/platform metrics (e.g., Gross Sales Value, Net Revenue, Customer Acquisition Cost, Churn) to provide actionable insight for leadership.
  • Financial Controls and Process Improvement: Designing, implementing and maintaining a robust financial and cost control framework (including balance sheet reconciliations, approval workflows and segregation of duties), driving process automation, and optimising accounting software and reporting tools to support business scale.
  • Compliance & Audit: Owning the annual audit process as the primary contact for external auditors and advisers, overseeing statutory accounts, corporation tax and VAT compliance, and regulatory filings.
  • Team Leadership: Line managing and developing junior finance staff and overseeing outsourced providers, setting priorities, reviewing work and building capability as the function scales.
  • International and Multi-Entity Finance: Supporting the finance requirements of our international expansion, including multi-currency accounting, intercompany transactions and consolidated group reporting.
  • Strategic and Investor Support: Supporting senior leadership with board packs, investor reporting, fundraising and due diligence, and the financial evaluation of pricing and commercial deals.
Must-haves
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in management accounting, financial reporting, or FP&A roles, including at least 2 years post-qualification owning the month-end close and management accounts.
  • Qualification: Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CA or CIMA accountant.
  • Technical Skills: Strong mastery of management and financial accounting, UK GAAP (FRS 102), cash flow modelling, variance analysis, and the design and operation of robust financial controls.
  • Systems Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and experience with modern cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero, NetSuite) and BI tools.
  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to look beyond the numbers, interpret complex data, and effectively communicate financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders up to leadership and board level.
  • Leadership: Experience managing, coaching or reviewing the work of others, with the ambition to build and lead a growing finance team.
  • Problem Solving & Precision: High attention to detail, proactive mindset, and a strong sense of ownership over financial outputs
Nice to have-

  • Experience managing high-volume transactional data or marketplace revenue models, including payment provider and settlement reconciliations.
  • Experience of multi-entity, multi-currency or international group reporting and consolidations.
