A leading company in the technology sector is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee all accounting and controlling functions. The role includes managing financial reporting, compliance, and team development, while ensuring high standards of governance. The ideal candidate will have a professional accounting qualification and significant experience in financial management.
Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Droitwich (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience
Job Summary:
The Finance Manager will support the Head of Commercial Finance and the Finance Director with all accounting and controlling within the business. They will ensure a high standard of reporting, governance and controls across all areas of finance. The Finance Manager will work with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting to meet the decision-making requirements of the wider business. Act as a key member of the Finance Team. Together with the wider business, they will continue to embed structured processes and drive continuous improvement in all areas of financial reporting, control and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Support
The Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring accurate accounting and reporting for Airband including:
• Maintaining accruals and prepayments
• Maintaining and accounting for a large value of fixed assets
• Assisting with the preparation of technical accounting memos with reference to relevant prescribed accounting guidelines and ensuring the accounting for all Group entities is kept up to date, accurate and maintained to a good standard.
Monthly Closing and Reporting
The Finance Manager will be responsible for leading the month end close, consolidation and reporting requirements for the business covering:
• Leading the monthly close timetable
• Ensuring accurate reporting of revenue and costs in flash reports
• Leading on the presentation and review of business performance dashboards
• Monthly closure of periods and rollover on a timely basis
• Lead the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring the books reflect an accurate picture for the business and its assets and liabilities
• Preparing the group first draft flash results for review
• Completing the month end reporting and board pack for both internal and external use
Commercial business reporting and management
• Assisting in the budgeting and forecasting process and reporting of variance against plan
• Assisting with ad-hoc presentations, financial analysis and reporting projects as required
• Managing the insurance policies and annual renewal cycle
• Managing the accounts payable department, ensuring invoices are processed in a timely manner and assessing metrics such as payment performance and spend analysis
• Monthly VAT returns and PAYE submissions
Business Partnering and support
The Finance Manager will act as a business partner to the commercial team, by providing support across various financial and commercial areas including:
• Drive a deeper understanding of commercial costs
• Supporting the commercial functions in the continued development of more efficient business and finance processes and controls
• Support various improvement initiatives
Compliance and Governance
To manage and deliver high standards of governance and compliance covering:
• Maintaining and improving financial control and processes
• Preparation of annual statutory accounts
• Support the management of the statutory audit, providing necessary audit packs in line with requirements as laid out and agreed between management and auditors.
• Ensure that the Company is compliant with accounting standards, tax compliance and all required financial-related regulatory filings
People Management
To manage, develop and mentor members of the team, covering:
• Providing annual responsibilities and accountabilities aimed supporting the organisational objectives
• Conduct periodic performance reviews, providing honest feedback and assessment with an aim to hold the team appropriately accountable
Person Specification
Confident and comfortable in coordinating and influencing multiple
stakeholders, working collaboratively to deliver business results.

Essential Criteria
• Professional accounting qualification (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
• Demonstrable experience in financial modelling, control, budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
• Approximately 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Highly numeric with strong analytical skills
Also, ideally you will have:
• Experience in a recurring revenue technology business would be beneficial
• Knowledge of WAP, Salesforce and Sage
