Business Development Manager (Property Finance) - North East or Black Country

Our established challenger banking client specializes in real estate lending to SMEs across the UK, offering products like mortgages for commercial landlords, business owners, and property refurbishment projects. They are seeking Business Development Managers for the North East or Black Country regions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with regional brokers, accountants, and professional introducers, ensuring adherence to the bank's lending policies and values, and exceeding new business goals.
  • Identify and develop partnerships with local professionals to support business growth.
  • Maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities and provide monthly updates to the Commercial Director.
  • Create a personalized local relationship model focused on speed and transparency.
  • Identify future business development and diversification opportunities aligned with the bank's strategic plan.
  • Achieve financial targets and set objectives for direct reports.
  • Manage and supervise the Business Development Officer according to the bank’s framework.
  • Respond to inquiries and referrals with high-quality customer service.
  • Support the professional development of the Business Development Officer.
  • Promote the bank and lead regional business development activities to differentiate from competitors.
  • Develop local strategies in line with overall bank goals.
  • Meet and exceed personal performance goals set by the Business Development Director.

  • Strong intellect with a professional approach, focused on SME customers.
  • Experience in property lending, especially within the SME sector, including origination, credit, and relationship banking.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, pragmatic, and capable of working independently.
  • Ability to develop relationships at key business levels.
