Job summary

Starling, the UK's leading digital bank, is seeking an engineer with 3-4 years of Java experience to join our Finance Engineering team in a hybrid role across Manchester and other offices. You will contribute to core financial systems, ledgers, and integrations, collaborating with stakeholders and delivering high-quality, scalable code.

You will work in a fast-paced fintech environment, with a modern tech stack including Java, Postgres, AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling.

Qualifications

• Three to four years of Java engineering experience.
• Experience designing and building reliable financial systems is valued.
• Postgres experience is desirable; Netsuite experience would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Write and support key financial systems such as the bank's ledgers and the systems that integrate with them.
• Engage with internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle and ensure clear, concise, maintainable code.
• Design scalable, resilient architectures to solve problems and deliver reliable results for customers.
