Job summary

Starling Bank is seeking engineers with 3-4 years of Java experience to join our Finance Engineering team. You will write and support the bank's ledgers and financial systems, collaborating with treasurers, accountants and internal partners.

You should be comfortable designing scalable systems and working across a cloud-native stack (AWS/GCP, Kubernetes), with a focus on code quality and resilient services. Hybrid working in the UK is supported.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of Java experience in a financial/enterprise context
• Experience designing scalable systems and engaging with internal stakeholders
• Postgres experience is highly desirable and beneficial

Responsibilities

• Write and support key financial systems such as the bank's ledgers
• Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to ensure accuracy of transactions
• Design and evolve financial services with a cloud-native stack (AWS/GCP, Kubernetes)
• Contribute to the code quality, testing and documentation processes
