Job summary

What is the role responsible for?

The Finance Director - Gamma Enterprise is the senior finance leader for Gamma Enterprise (“GE”) and a key member of its leadership team. The role partners the GE CEO and UK CFO & Director of Group Finance (“UK CFO”) to shape strategy, improve commercial and operational performance, maintain strong financial control and support sustainable growth across cloud communications, customer experience, connectivity, mobile, cyber security and managed network services.

For the year ended 31 December 2025, Gamma Enterprise reported external revenue of £130.5m, gross profit of £60.3m, gross margin of 46.2% and adjusted EBITDA of £29.9m. The division represented 17% of Gamma Group gross profit; Gamma Group reported revenue of £645.8m and adjusted EBITDA of £141.7m for that year.

What will you be doing day-to-day?

Here are a few examples of what you could be involved with:

• Leadership and strategy: Act as the principal finance adviser to the GE CEO and Enterprise leadership team, shaping strategy, priorities and long-range plans
• Business partnering: Provide clear, forward-looking financial insight and constructive challenge to commercial, sales, product, operational and technology leaders.
• Performance management: Lead the financial performance agenda, translating results and operational drivers into actions that improve revenue quality, gross margin, EBITDA and cash conversion.
• Planning and reporting: Own budgets, forecasts, medium-term plans, monthly performance reporting and management commentary for GE.
• Financial ownership: Take overall ownership of the Gamma Enterprise income statement and balance sheet, including accurate monthly submission to Group in line with Group accounting standards and key reporting deadlines.
• Commercial governance: Partner with Sales and the deal team on complex commercial propositions, approve deals within delegated authority and present to customers where required.
• Deal cash flow and funding: Maximise deal cash flows through rigorous proposition modelling and the appropriate use of external funding options.
• Supplier governance: Review and approve new supplier relationships, ensuring commercial terms, financial standing, controls and operational arrangements are robust and commercially appropriate.
• Contracts and deal assurance: Provide financial leadership on material bids, tenders and contracts, including commercial modelling, risk assessment, approval and post-investment review.
• Revenue and margin assurance: Ensure reliable revenue, margin and product or customer profitability reporting, with prompt identification and resolution of leakage or underperformance.
• Cost, cash and investment: Drive disciplined cost management, working-capital performance, capital allocation and benefits tracking.
• Operating expenditure: Manage operating expenditure and review and approve spend requests against budgets and forecasts, including requests supported by specific business cases.
• Business cases: Review and critically evaluate investment and savings business cases, ensuring assumptions, risks, returns and benefits are robust and clearly evidenced.
• Controls and compliance: Maintain an effective control environment and ensure compliance with Group policies, accounting standards, tax requirements, audit expectations and delegated authorities.
• External audit and statutory accounts: Manage external audits for key subsidiaries and ensure they are completed effectively and on time, providing finance input to annual statutory accounts as required.
• Process and systems improvement: Simplify and automate finance processes and strengthen data quality and decision support, using D365, Power BI and other relevant tools.
• Team leadership: Lead, coach and develop the Enterprise finance team, setting clear accountabilities, building succession and creating an inclusive, high-performance culture.
• Strategic initiatives: Lead the financial workstream for transformation, integration, investment and other strategic programmes across Gamma Enterprise.
• M&A: Work with the Gamma Enterprise CEO to assess potential acquisition targets and lead or support financial due diligence, forecasts and valuations.
• Post-acquisition integration: Lead the finance integration of acquired businesses, including processes, controls, systems and reporting, and support legal-entity rationalisation and liquidations where required.
• Profit improvement: Proactively lead and drive profit-improvement initiatives across the business, establishing clear ownership and ensuring that planned benefits are realised.
• Customer delivery performance: Lead the financial review of complex customer-delivery programmes, understand variances against expectations and underlying profit drivers, and drive corrective action through the senior leadership team.

What You’ll Bring

You don’t need experience in everything listed—but we’re especially keen to hear from people with some of the following skills:

• Qualified accountant with substantial post-qualification experience
• Previous experience within a PE backed environment is desirable.
• Proven experience as a senior commercial finance leader, divisional Finance Director or equivalent in a complex organisation.
• Experience in B2B technology, telecoms, managed services or public‑sector contracting is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrable ownership of a material P&L, including planning, reporting, commercial decision support, cash and controls.
• Strong experience of complex contracts, bids, pricing, investment appraisal and customer or product profitability.
• Track record of leading, developing and retaining high‑performing finance teams.
• Advanced Excel capability; experience of D365, Power BI, SQL or comparable finance and analytics tools is desirable.
• Excellent executive communication skills, with the confidence to influence, challenge and simplify complex issues.
• Highly organised, resilient and comfortable operating at pace through ambiguity and change.
• Able to travel within the UK as required.
